I used to like this sport when I watched it on TV. Things changed when moved to a new apartment where every day kids were practicing it by my building. It is very unpleasant and noicy sport and should be banned from residential areas!!

Skateboarding
I agree with Anna, skateboarding is the new scourge in the city. They are nothing but hooligans. They create a lot of noise without regard to the neighbourhood in which they live. They smoke dope and drink in the neighbourhood parks. They also write graffiti everywhere. Just as an example the new skateboard park at Lakeshore and Coxwell has already been marred by graffiti.I have actually gone by the park at Lakeshore and Coxwell during the middle of the school day and have seen school age kids there between 1pm and 3pm. What gives! I would appreciate a response.

lady what are you doing in the skatepark anyway?
people who dont play hockey dont feel free to waltz through hockey arenas
i know its a public space..but its made for SKATEBOARDING
i am a little tired of people hanging out there and not skating
also parents bring kids under 5 on scooters there...that is not what the park is for. these people should go hang out on the boardwalk across and leave the skatepark for who it was built for.....SKATEBOARDERS!!!!

Janet Reymond it's pretty obvious you have no idea what you are talking about. New scourge of the city? What was the first scourge, public transit? You are blaming skateboarder's for things that EVERY teenager does. Your right that Ashbridges Bay does have some graffitti already, but do any of the skaters care? NO! Maybe you should take a lesson. And what were you doing there between 1-3 pm huh? Shouldn't you be at work minding your own business? I think you should be thankful for skateboarders because the fact is that when we're skating, were not drinking, smoking or doing graffittiing, were doing something constructive instead and letting all the other teens do the bad stuff. You should try to think before you speak next time.

hey man, skateparks are for skateboarders. But it's the people in the neighbourhood that paid for it to be there. I'm a skater, but you gotta have some respect, not go around acting like an ass. You don't own the park just cause you skate, fool. Most skateboarders are fine, and lady you who thinks that it should be banned, I think we should ban the leafs, they haven't won anything in 42 freakin years. Skateboarding is not a crime, it's just like anything else, most of the people doing it are just enjoying a healthy sport. There's always a small element of any group that is bad news, but we don't go around painting everyone with the same brush because what would that be ? Discrimination (oops), I guess you didn't think of it that way did you sucka. Maybe those kids at the park their parents are beating the crap out of them at night, their teachers have written them off, and the only time they have to maintain sanity is in the afternoon at the park, leave them alone, they could be smokin crack in your backyard, freakin relax already.
